INDIA DRILLING & EXPLORATION CONFERENCE 2010 (IDEC 2010)
India’s Deepwater potential – Drilling & Logistic Challenges
      Despite the current scenario of economic uncertainties, oil and gas demand looks set to continue growing without a background of significant alternative energy sources in the near future. The Oil industry is challenged to develop and deploy technologies that will allow the new frontier in offshore development. Forecasts reveal that in the Asia Pacific region alone, 42 floating production units are expected to be deployed by 2012. This is the largest number of units for any geographical region
      Accepting the need base for a sustainable future & energy security; the conference theme; ' India’s Deepwater potential – Drilling & Logistic Challenges’ is built to reveal both concerns, opportunities and an understanding of the road ahead. It was recently estimated that a significant financial resource will be made available for India’s deep water exploration and production sector over the next decade. The required deep water knowledge base will be the focus on an event where technology challenges will be discussed, together with the all important technical challenge in sub-sea development & the answer to the all important question; 'What type of sub-sea technology roadmap will the industry require for its deep water requirements'?
Other important issues will also be tackled, including;
  • Global offshore yard capabilities and competency (to meet the massive requirement of rigs, FPSO, FLNG, supply vessels, Anchor handling tugs and other offshore assets.
  • Global service and support structure for operations, from the automation technology industry, training institutes, and if these operators are ready for the challenge
      These issues and the challenges ahead will be heard loud & clear at a dedicated conference where attendees will be provided the opportunity to hear, meet & discuss with expert professionals and the best minds from the oil & gas industry. The forum will feature a wide range of representations including representatives from the Govt. of India, Directorate General of Hydrocarbons, E & P companies, operators, subsea engineering, piping, logistics, Academics, automation technology professionals from all over the globe & many more.
      The conference is dedicated to inform managers, engineers, geologists, production technologists and other experts involved in all phases of offshore oilfield developments. The benefit comes from the experience, learning and exchange with experts as well as fellow attendees, sharing the best practices in exploration and production of challenging offshore reservoirs.
      This conference will also focus on critical aspects surrounding highly complex offshore developments. IDEC 2010 would like to invite your attendance, and support to an occasion that is built on an information and exchange platform that aims to deliver information in an environment that in conducive for peer networking and exchange.
